One doesn’t have to look far to find Best of Des Moines certificates proudly displayed in businesses across central Iowa. Winning a category from the votes of CITYVIEW readers is a major honor for the people, places and events of the metro.  With that in mind, we decided to throw a party to honor all the winners.  First held in 2009, the Best of Des Moines Party has become a mainstay event each February.  The Best of Des Moines winners are announced at the event.  This is a private event, with invitations sent to all the winners notifying them that they will be honored but not telling them any specifics. Winners are announced in a video presentation with much food and drink present. More than 1,000 people have attended the event each year, as it has become a gathering for the best of the best in central Iowa.
